Mocapor: Advancing stone evolution in the 21st century

Portuguese firm Mocapor pride themselves on the constant evolution of two things: their company and their stone.

Owners of nine different quarries, two transformation factories and a modern Aljubarrota showroom, Mocapor have a portfolio of 150-plus variations of natural stone.

Supplying limestone, granite, marble, travertine and exotic stones all quarried in their homeland, the family-founded firm has been at the heart of hundreds of façade-based projects in more than 30 countries since its inception in 1992.

And as they gear-up for exhibiting at Middle East Stone 2018, Mocapor head East with two of their most impressive projects to date recently completed: the Hofhaus am Arnulfpark in Munich and Frankfurt’s OpernTurm.

The Hofhaus project is a large-scale residential and commercial building built on a former railway site in the Bavarian capital. Illustrated in the images below, the vast construct’s façade was completed using Mocapor’s exclusive Crème Sintra, extracted from their RC Quarry in Santarém.

One of Frankfurt’s newest landmarks, the OpernTurm (Opern Tower) is a high-rise of outstanding quality, built to reflect the prestigious international image of Germany’s financial capital. Its façade and elements of its interior were finished with Mocapor’s gently coloured, exclusive ROSAL stone.

On their continual growth, Mocapor say: “Today, the company doesn't cease its evolution, and is aware that the path that needs to be done is even longer than the part of the path already traversed in the past. But, as the bonds that bind together elements of a family, Mocapor also recognises that the stone world is a certificate of long term endurance: it only survives for those who can adapt; it only prospers for those who don’t forget its origins.

“At Mocapor, the vision of family management is crystal clear and adapted to the modern times. Our connection to the stone origin is umbilically linked, and we are certain that this DNA will be the future ground to the company national and international development.

“We have established our brand with the trustfulness and perseverance of our daily work, which ultimately transformed our raw materials in an ongoing investment for several regional and worldwide business people.

“Everywhere, our main challenge will always be the same: to deserve the trust of those who work along ourselves.”
